DCTMA hosted its 15th Annual Municipalities Conference & Trade Show Thursday, March 30th at Drexelbrook. The focus of this year’s theme was “PennDOT Connects: Creating Multimodal Transportation Networks.” We were pleased to welcome Leslie Richards, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Transportation, as the keynote speaker. Secretary Richards, along with a panel of industry experts, discussed current and future plans to improve the local, regional, and statewide multimodal system. The panel featured Angela Watson, PennDOT; Erika Rush, Urban Engineers; Elizabeth Schoonmaker, DVRPC; and Elizabeth Smith, SEPTA.
Nearly 200 municipal managers, elected officials, engineers, road and highway managers, maintenance crews, emergency services personnel, environmental, zoning and planning committee members attended. Guests had an opportunity to network throughout the exhibit area and make contacts with businesses vital to their respective municipalities.
Bruce Clark, Middletown Township Manager, won a weekend getaway, including an overnight stay and breakfast buffet at Staybridge Suites in Glen Mills, two tickets to Longwood Gardens, two tasting passes to Chaddsford Winery, and dinner for two at P.F. Chang’s.
New this year, DCTMA raffled off a basket of cheer which went to Justin Dula of Delaware County Planning Department. Municipality members were encouraged to post on DCTMA’s Twitter and Facebook pages using #Muni2017.
