DCTMA Awards DCCC Student 1st Annual Engineering Scholarship

Over the past year, DCTMA raised money for our 1st Annual Engineering Scholarship, which goes to a student enrolled in an engineering program at one of DCTMA’s member colleges or trade schools.

Our Engineering Scholarship Committee reviewed applicants’ essays and transcripts, and chose a Sophomore at Delaware County Community College. Adam Berridge of Glenolden was chosen this year to receive $1000 scholarship towards future education in engineering. The committee presented him with the check April 26th at the college.

DCTMA raised the scholarship money during several events, including a special night at Hedgerow Theatre during the debut of the play Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. All proceeds from ticket sales and a special raffle went to the scholarship.

We’ve already begun brainstorming new ideas for next year’s fundraising effort!

MEDIA, PA – PennDOT’s massive, multi-phase reconstruction and revival project is well underway and commuters are feeling its major effects. The “95 Revive” plan, set for completion in 2023, is affecting traffic in many communities across the Greater Philadelphia region. While the work has yet to begin in Delaware County, Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) has been working closely with PennDOT and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to keep commuters updated with the latest information. To help DCTMA’s municipalities stay up to date, this year’s Municipalities Conference and Trade Show featured keynote speaker Kenneth McClain, District Executive of PennDOT District 6.
