Municipalities Conference

2012 Municipalities Conference & Tradeshow

Thursday, April 12, 2012

We will hold our Ninth Annual Municipalities Conference and Tradeshow on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year’s theme will focus on Small Disaster Planning & Assistance. When a small disaster wreaks havoc on a community’s infrastructure; the municipality must be able to quickly repair roads, bridges, sewer and water lines, and equipment to get the municipality up and running again. Our speakers will discuss issues and share information and experiences on planning for and handling the small disasters.

We are pleased to have Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation Barry Schoch, as our keynote speaker, followed by a panel discussion on Small Disaster Planning & Assistance.

The conference also featured three break-out meetings held concurrently – the quarterly meeting of the Delaware County Coastal Zone Task Force, an open house meeting of the Delaware County Incident Management Task Force, the DCTMA’s quarterly Board and Membership meeting. The day included plenty of time for networking with over 100 professionals, representing a variety of business and organizations.

“Protecting Your Community & Your Bottom Line”

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center

“Protecting Your Community & Your Bottom Line” was selected as the 2010 theme because we know there are many municipalities and local businesses that want to do the best for their environment and their neighbors, but don’t always have the resources or information to move from goal to action. Our keynote speaker and panel discussion offered attendees tangible, can-do suggestions to go green, meeting both financial and time constraints.

Opening remarks were offered by Vice Chair of Delaware County Council, Christine Fizzano Cannon, followed by our keynote speaker Janet Milkman, Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.
