FIFA World Cup 2026™ (June 11–July 19, 2026)
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is coming to Philadelphia from June 11 through July 19, 2026. Matches will take place at Lincoln Financial Field (temporarily renamed “Philadelphia Stadium” for the tournament) in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Additionally, a free 39-day FIFA Fan Festival will be held in East Fairmount Park at Lemon Hill Park.
What to Expect
Visitors and residents should plan for increased traffic in the city during event weeks, especially around match days and peak fan festival hours.
Roads with increased traffic:
- Broad Street (Route 611)
- I-95 corridor near the Sports Complex
- Kelly Drive
- Poplar Drive
- Sedgley Drive surrounding Lemon Hill
Area Closures:
- On match days, much of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, including general parking and Xfinity Live!, will be restricted strictly to FIFA personnel and ticket holders.
Fan Festival Travel Rules:
- Organizers have urged fans not to drive to Lemon Hill as there is no public parking available at the festival venue.
- The Philadelphia Parking Authority will enforce strict residential permit parking in the nearby Brewerytown and Fairmount neighborhoods to manage congestion.
Traffic Management:
- Comprehensive message boards, event signage, and local law enforcement will be active to guide traffic flow and manage safety.
Parking and Transportation
Off-Site Transportation Hubs:
- Rather than driving to the venues, attendees are highly encouraged to use Regional Rail stations throughout the Greater Philadelphia area that offer paid parking lots ($2) and garages ($4).
Rideshare:
- Designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up zones will be active at the Sports Complex for the matches. For the Fan Festival, rideshare is the recommended alternative to driving.
Biking Options:
- Indego bike share has installed permanent extra docks near the Sports Complex (Broad & Pattison and 10th & Phillies Way) and will provide two temporary pop-up stations near Lemon Hill.
Plan Ahead

Attendees are encouraged to allow extra travel time, leverage mass transit network alternatives, and follow posted signage.
FIFA World Cup 2026™: How to Use the SEPTA System to Travel to the Games
The 2026 FIFA World Cup matches and festival events will be taking place right here in Philadelphia. Group stage matches are scheduled for June 14, 19, 22, 25, and 27, followed by a Round of 16 match on July 4. Expected match highlights include powerhouse appearances such as Brazil vs. Haiti on June 19 and France vs. Iraq on June 22. More information about the matches can be found on the FIFA website.
If you will be riding SEPTA for the first time or would just like a refresher on how the system works, check out the extensive rider guide on the SEPTA website. It details all modes of transport, how to navigate the network, and how to use our convenient contactless payment methods (tap-to-pay via credit card, debit card, or mobile wallet is fully supported across all routes for up to five riders).
Directions for Travel
- Getting to the Matches (Philadelphia Stadium)
SEPTA will provide direct, frequent rapid transit service via the Broad Street Line (B Line) straight to NRG Station at the Sports Complex.
- Frequency & Speed: 10 extra trains will be deployed in the lead-up to each match, allowing SEPTA to move up to 15,000 riders per hour.
- Fares Going to the Match: Rides down to the match are kept at the standard base fare of $2.90.
- FREE RIDES HOME: Thanks to a special sponsorship from Airbnb, all rides departing NRG Station after the matches are completely free. Free turnstile entry begins at halftime and continues for two hours after the final whistle blows.
- Overnight Service: For late-night match crowds, both the Broad Street Line (B) and the Market-Frankford Line (L) will operate overnight train service every 30 minutes to select stations on game days.
- Regional Rail Connections: Late-night Regional Rail trains will be held or delayed on match days to ensure suburban fans can get home safely (including specific late-night 1:00 AM hour extensions on June 19).
- Getting to the FIFA Fan Festival (Lemon Hill Park)
Because there is no parking at Lemon Hill, taking public transit is your best bet. SEPTA has heavily bolstered service running daily from June 11 to July 19:
- Bus Route 32 & Route 48: Frequency has been increased to every 15 minutes or less, running from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
- PHLASH Tourism Loop: The Philly PHLASH service has added a brand-new special stop at Pennsylvania and Fairmount avenues, placing riders just a short walk away from the festival grounds.
